It was a divertimento that reached enormous popularity during century XVIII: The Serenade was played in the evening, at dusk, often outdoors, and made the delights of the evenings in the gardens of the palaces of the aristocrats. Peculiarly the name does not derive from sera, that in Italian it is "behind schedule", but of night watchman, "calmed" or "rested". The origin of the Serenade is in the ballads that the enamored ones sang in front of the windows of the loved one at dusk. Mozart composed thirteen Serenatas, normally to celebrate a social act: Courteous weddings, celebrations, etc.
In several countries of Latin America, like Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico, Peru and others, the term "serenade" talks about the fact to take, generally by the nights, typical and traditional a set of cords, for example a mariachi (in the case of Mexico) or the bigeye tuna (of European origin but that extended by Latin America), a pair or a trio with interpreters of the typical instruments of the country, to the outside of the house of a lady, and to cause that the set in general interprets and sings songs so that the man expresses varied feelings, of love, gratefulness or desires of reconciliation.
I believe that this video speaks clearly of the Mexican culture, enamoring a woman this way is something simply VERY romantic that it is not seen in no other side.
Conquist that special one at the style of Jorge Negrete and Pedro Infante, two of Mexico icons, by sending a iSerenata with one of his classic songs.
